Tourism development officers conduct research, formulate policies, and administer programs to promote tourism investment in urban and rural areas. They are employed by government departments, international organizations, marketing firms, and business associations, or may be self-employed.
Main duties :
- plan development projects and coordinate activities with representatives of a wide variety of industrial and commercial enterprises, community and business associations, and government agencies
- respond to enquiries from members of the business community and the general public concerning development opportunities
- review and evaluate tourism development proposals and provide advice on procedures and requirements for government approval
Diploma of College Studies (DCS)
Program length : 3 years
This program aims to simultaneously teach versatility and the mastering of a technical function. It allows for the student to actively participate in the development of the tourist industry while teaching them to adapt to different cultures, to evaluate a tourist location, in the development of tourist products and services as well as the promotion of these products and services. In choosing one of the three specializations, the students will acquire the necessary qualifications that will enable them to intervene accordingly whether it be in Hospitality and Tour-Guiding, Tourist Product Development, or in the Development and Promotion of Travel Products.
